Product Overview

It is not often a new invention comes along in the world of blinds. Vision is exactly that.

The slats of alternating coloured fabric and transparent mesh slide past each other as the blind goes up and down, allowing you to exactly control how much light is let through.

On our Vision Blind Designer, you can select a fabric, enter your desired sizes and select other options for a final, delivered price to your door.

Also known as Duorol, Zebra, Night / Day and Mirage blinds, these Vision blinds add a very modern look to any room.

There are two main version available to buy here; a manual, chain-operated blind and a battery-powered, motor-driven blind with a remote control.

One of the questions we ask in our Blind Designer is the drop, or height of your blind. We use this information to make sure the fabric slats line up to give complete privacy when your blind is wound down to the fully closed position.

Fitting

Fitting is a simple DIY job and only requires the drilling of holes for use with the supplied brackets. A full fitting guide is provided in the box with your Vision blind(s). Please make sure you have the correct screws and fixings for the type of wall or ceiling you will be attaching to.

Electric Motor, Remote-Control Version

You can optionally choose to have your Vision blind with a battery-powered electric motor and remote control, giving it a new level of convenience and interaction.

The battery lasts between 3 to 6 months, depending on how often it is operated and is fully rechargeable in 6 to 8 hours.

You can operate the blind up and down precisely, or easily program up to 6 pre-determined positions.

We offer a couple of different remote control options:

  • A wall-mountable wireless switch for controlling one or more blinds all at the same time
  • A 6-channel remote control that allows you to control up to 6 blinds independently
  • A wireless, programmable timer unit for opening and closing your blinds at pre-set times

Child Safety

There are strict legal rules around the installation of blinds with chains to make sure they are safe for children.

Our motorised version of the Vision blind is already 100% child-safe as there is no chain.

For the chain-operated version, there are two standard options.

The first is to have a chain designed to break under a certain load. The problem with this design is that the chains often break when being operated normally if the user is a little more vigorous than usual. While the chains can be easily snapped back together, it can get frustrating quite quickly.

The second option, and the one that we recommend and supply, is a solid chain, fitted at least 1.5m off the floor and held to the wall with a retainer at the bottom of the chain loop.

For the manual, chain-operated version, one of the questions we ask in the blind designer is how high off the floor your blind will be in total. We use this to calculate the length of the chain to make sure it complies to child safety regulations. The bottom of the chain needs to be at least 1.5 metres from the floor to comply with the legal regulations. We also provide a plastic chain retainer to attach the bottom of the chain to your wall.
