Can I order fabric samples before choosing?

Yes! When browsing fabrics on any of our product pages, you can add samples to a sample request and we’ll post them out to you. This lets you see and feel the fabric before committing to your order.

Can I order just the track without curtains?

Yes. On all of our curtain track product pages, you’ll see an option to add curtains. Simply leave this unselected to order the track on its own. You can always order curtains separately later if you change your mind.

What’s the difference between the Autoglide 5100, 5600, and Metropole?

The Autoglide 5100 is a low-voltage track powered by a plug-in adapter — no electrician needed. The 5600 is a mains-powered track for longer runs (up to 25 metres) and is ideal for heavy curtains. The Metropole is a decorative curtain pole available in manual or electric versions, perfect when you want the track to be a design feature.

How do I measure for my curtain track?

Measure the width you want the track to cover (usually the window width plus 10–15cm each side for stack-back) and the drop from the track position to where you want the curtains to finish. See our full Measuring Guide for detailed instructions.

Can I fit the track myself?

Accepted Answer

The Autoglide 5100 and Metropole are designed for easy DIY installation — you’ll need a drill, spirit level, and screwdriver, and they just plug into a standard socket. The 5600 is also straightforward to mount, but because it’s mains-powered it needs a permanent electrical connection by a qualified electrician. Full fitting instructions are included with every product.

Do I need an electrician?

Only for the Silent Gliss 5600 mains-powered track, which needs to be connected to a permanent mains supply. The Autoglide 5100 and battery Metropole models use a low-voltage plug-in adapter and don’t require an electrician.

Can the track go around a bay window?

Yes. Our tracks can be professionally bent to follow the shape of your bay window. We have a simple worksheet for you to follow — just a few straightforward measurements that we use to calculate the track length and bends. Call us on 01543 279996 and we’ll walk you through it.

Which side should the motor go on?

Accepted Answer

The motor should go on the side nearest to a power socket. For the 5100, that’s wherever you’ll plug in the adapter. For the 5600, it’s wherever the electrician will make the mains connection. If both sides are equally convenient, it doesn’t matter — pick whichever you prefer.

How long will delivery take?

Standard curtain tracks are delivered in around 5 working days. Tracks with bending for bay windows take around 7 working days. If you've ordered curtains with your track, delivery is approximately 20 working days as they're delivered together. See our Delivery Information page for full details.

Is delivery free?

Yes, delivery is free on all curtain tracks and blinds to UK Mainland addresses. A small delivery charge applies to accessories-only orders under £99.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

We primarily deliver to UK Mainland addresses. If you’re located outside the UK Mainland (including Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, or overseas), please call us on 01543 279996 to discuss delivery options.

Can I choose a delivery day?

Depending on the product, you may be able to select a preferred delivery day during checkout. We’ll always let you know in advance when your order is arriving. Deliveries are Monday to Friday only.

What warranty do I get?

All Silent Gliss products come with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. Somfy products come with a 3-year warranty. In the unlikely event of a problem, contact us directly and we'll work with you to fix, repair, or replace whatever is needed. See our Warranty page for more details.

Can I return a product?

Because our products are made to measure specifically for your order, we're unable to accept returns for change of mind. However, if there's a fault or your order isn't as described, we'll put it right immediately. Please see our full Terms & Conditions for details.

What if my product arrives damaged?

In the rare event that your product arrives damaged, please contact us immediately with photos and we’ll arrange a replacement as quickly as possible. Don’t attempt to fit a damaged product.

How do I control my electric curtains?

Depending on your product and chosen accessories, you can control your curtains via a handheld remote control, a wireless wall button, or a programmable timer. The Autoglide 5100 comes with a wireless wall button as standard. Additional controls can be added during ordering.

Can I control my curtains with my phone or smart home system?

The Silent Gliss 5600 mains-powered track has an optional Move Server accessory which allows it to be integrated with home automation systems. The 5100 does not have app or smart home control — it uses remote control, timer, and wall button only.

Can I set my curtains to open and close automatically?

Yes. You can add a programmable timer to your order which allows you to set daily schedules for opening and closing. This is great for security when you’re away from home, or simply for convenience.

What happens during a power cut?

You can always open and close your curtains by hand during a power cut — simply pull the leading edge gently. The motor will disengage and re-engage once power is restored.

Is it safe to pay online?

Absolutely. We use Stripe for payment processing, which is one of the world’s most trusted and secure payment platforms. Your card details are encrypted end-to-end and we never see or store your full card number.
