Scandinavian design meets the Cornish coast

On a three-kilometre sandy beach in Cornwall sits a luxury home designed by Leivars Interior Design Studio. The brief was Scandinavian simplicity — blonde wood, natural light, and nothing fussy.

For the windows, the designers chose the Silent Gliss Metropole curtain pole with sheer Wave curtains. The Metropole runs the full width of the room-wide, floor-to-ceiling openings, finished in a restrained white that disappears against the ceiling line.

The sheer fabric does the heavy lifting: softening the hard floors, improving room acoustics, and gently filtering the Cornish daylight when the sun gets too strong. When the curtains are open, the Metropole’s ultra-slim profile keeps the sea views completely unobstructed.

What makes the Metropole special is that it looks like a traditional curtain pole but runs on Silent Gliss’s patented silent glider mechanism — no rattling, no sticking, just smooth, quiet operation every time.

The Metropole is available in 6 models, 2 colour groups, and a choice of decorative finials. It’s also available as an electric version — curtains that glide open at the touch of a button, hidden inside a classic pole.
