The Silent Gliss Metropole is a premium decorative curtain pole system, available in manual or electric variants with a choice of 30mm or 50mm diameter poles.

Unlike hidden curtain tracks, the Metropole is designed to be seen, with a wide range of decorative finials and colour options to complement your interior design.

Manual models are available in 30mm and 50mm diameters, while electric models use the proven 5100 motor system in a 50mm diameter pole. Electric models include the same range of controllers as the Autoglide 5100 range.

Manual tracks can be bent for bay windows, with options for smooth curves or angle bends.

You can hang standard curtains or order Silent Gliss Wave curtains that always hang in a professional-looking, uniform manner.

Models & Variants

Manual Models

Manual Metropole poles are available in two diameters:

• 30mm Manual – A sleek, slimmer pole for lighter curtains and smaller windows
• 50mm Manual – A more substantial pole for larger windows and heavier curtains

Manual models can be bent for bay windows – choose from a smooth curve or individual angle bends.

Electric Models

Electric Metropole poles use the same proven 5100 motor system, available with different controller options:

• 5100 B – Electric with wireless wall switch
• 5100 R – Electric with wall switch and handheld remote
• 5100 T – Electric with wall switch and programmable timer
• 5100 TC – Electric with wall switch, remote and timer

All electric models use a 50mm diameter pole. Electric models cannot be bent.

Colours

The Metropole is available in 9 colours across two groups:

• Group 1: Black, White, Matt White, Ecru
• Group 2: Slate Grey, Bronze, Antique Bronze, Taupe, Anodic Grey

Finials (End Caps)

Choose from 9 decorative finial styles to personalise your pole:

• Flush – Minimal flat end cap, adds no length
• Stud – Small protruding end cap
• Ball – Classic round ball finial
• Spear – Elongated decorative finial
• Groove Cylinder – Ribbed cylindrical finial
• Design – Modern geometric finial
• Clear Ball – Transparent glass-effect ball
• Ellipse – Wide oval-shaped finial
• Taper – Gradual taper to a point

Finial dimensions vary between 30mm and 50mm diameter poles. The configurator shows the exact dimensions and overall length for your selection.

Product Specification

Manual Models

Manual Metropole poles are supplied fully assembled and made to your exact measurements. Minimal DIY knowledge is required – you only need to fit the supplied brackets.

Electric Models

Electric Metropole poles use the same motor as the Autoglide 5100 and come with a 5m cable and fitted UK mains plug, so no electrician is required.

Bracket Information

Standard wall-fix brackets are included. For ceiling fixing with certain finial combinations, upgraded brackets may be required – this is handled automatically in the configurator pricing.

Curtain Hanging

Please ensure curtains are hung so the top of the curtains are below the profile of the pole. If the tops of the curtains protrude up and cover the pole, it may impede the motor on electric models.

Bay Windows & Bending

Manual Metropole poles can be bent to fit bay windows and curved walls.

Curve Bending

A smooth, continuous curve – ideal for curved bay windows. This is a single fixed-price option.

Angle Bending

Sharp angle bends, typically used for square bay windows. Specify the number of bends needed – each is priced individually.

Simply select the bending option in the configurator. We will be in touch after your order to take specific measurements for a perfect fit.

Note: Electric Metropole models cannot be bent. For an electric solution in a bay window, consider the Silent Gliss 5600 which supports bending with electric operation.

Wave Curtains

You can order Silent Gliss Wave Curtains made to perfectly fit your Metropole pole.

Wave technology makes your curtains always hang in a professional-looking, uniform wave. It's the secret of high-end installations and is now available for your home.

To order curtains, select the option "Yes, I'd like curtains too" in the configurator, and all the configurable options will appear.

Silent Gliss Fabrics

The fabrics we offer are Silent Gliss' own, specifically designed for this application.

We currently offer fabrics from their two most popular groups, Colorama 1 and Colorama 2.

• Colorama 1 is slightly thinner and therefore more transparent.
• Colorama 2 is thicker and lets less light through.

Delivery

Our Silent Gliss Metropole poles are made to measure and usually delivered within 5 to 7 working days from your order being placed.

If you order curtains too, these can take up to 20 days and everything will be delivered together.

We will always let you know in advance when your order will be arriving.

5 Year Warranty

All our Silent Gliss products come with a 5 year warranty as standard and the Metropole is no exception.

If your product suffers a fault during this time, get in touch with us directly and we'll find the most efficient way to rectify, repair or replace your product.
