Not just a convenience

Autoglide Models and Controls

As well as the control options listed below, each model has a new feature called "Touch and Go", where a small tug on the fabric of the curtain will start the motor to fully open or close your curtains.

Autoglide B (Wall Switch)

The 5100B comes with a wireless switch to open and close your curtains, and features a wall-mountable base. The switch can be removed from the base and used as a remote, then returned to the wall-mount for safe keeping. The wall mount is usually put next to your main light switch or favourite chair, so you always know where the controller is.

Autoglide R (Wall Switch + Remote)

The 5100R also comes with the wall-mountable switch, as well as a dedicated wireless remote, for keeping in easy reach or on the coffee table. The remote is slightly larger than the wall switch to make it easier to hold in your hand.

Autoglide T (Wall Switch + Timer)

The 5100T comes with the wall switch and with a wireless, programmable timer unit. You can set your curtains to open and close automatically without you having to take any action or even be in the house. This makes the timer perfect for security when you're away.

Autoglide TC (Total Control)

The 5100TC comes with all control options, so you get the wireless wall switch, the remote control and the timer unit.

Controlling Multiple Tracks

Each supplied controller controls a single "channel". If you plan on having multiple electric curtain tracks, you can obviously control them independently with their own controllers.

If you have more than one electric curtain track and set them all to the same channel, a single channel controller will control all of the curtain tracks, but they will operate all at the same time, rather than being able to operate them independently.

The Autoglide 5100 can be manually overridden in the event of a power cut.

Everything you need to motorise your existing curtains: track, motor, fixing brackets, your chosen controllers, 5m power cable with fitted UK mains plug, and full fitting instructions.

Works with your own curtains. This track is designed to work with whatever curtains you already have, or any new curtains you choose from any supplier. You're not locked into a particular fabric, range or style. Standard curtain hooks fit the gliders.

If you'd like premium Silent Gliss Wave curtains as an upgrade, you can add them when configuring your order above.

You'll also need: standard wall fixings (rawl plugs and screws, available from any hardware shop). That's it.

N.B. Any of the controls can be purchased separately in the future and added to your system. It is all compatible and you are not limiting yourself by the choices you make now.

Fitting & Installation

Your track will be supplied fully assembled and made to your exact measurements. Minimal DIY knowledge is required — you only need to fit the supplied brackets that hold the track. The system comes with a 5m cable and a fitted UK mains plug, so no electrician is required.

Not confident with DIY? A local handyman can fit this track in well under an hour. It's a simple bracket-and-clip job with no wiring involved.

The power cable

The motor sits at one end of the track with a 5m power cable that runs to your nearest socket. Most customers run the cable along the top of the wall and down to a socket behind furniture or along the skirting board.

Not sure about your measurements?

Send us a photo of your window along with your measurements and we'll let you know if anything looks off. The final measurements are your responsibility, but we're always happy to cast an eye over them before you order.

Important note — curtain hanging

Please note that curtains should be hung so the top of the curtains are below the profile of the track. If the tops of the curtains protrude up and cover the track, it may impede the motor and affect the operation of the system and possibly affect the warranty.

Bay Windows and Bending

If you have a shaped window, such as a bay window, the track can be bent for you during manufacture.

The 5100 can be bent up to two times, or have one long, continual curve. This is suitable for most 3-pane bay windows. If more bends are required, either consider multiple tracks, or take a look at the Silent Gliss 5600 Electric Curtain Track which can be bent as many times as required.

Simply select the "bending" option when designing your track. We will be in touch to ask you to take a few specific measurements in order to make sure your track fits perfectly.

Wave Curtains

You can now order Silent Gliss Wave Curtains made to perfectly fit your Autoglide track.

Wave technology makes your curtains always hang in a professional-looking, uniform wave. It's the secret of high-end installations and is now available for your home.

To order curtains, select the option "Yes, I'd like curtains too", and all the configurable options will appear for you to select.

Silent Gliss Fabrics

The fabrics we offer for curtains are Silent Gliss' own, specifically designed and refined for this application.

We currently offer fabrics from their two most popular groups, Colorama 1 and Colorama 2, which have both vivid and more toned-down colours to suit any application.

• Colorama 1 is slightly thinner and therefore more transparent than Colorama 2.
• Colorama 2 is thicker and lets less light through.

Our Silent Gliss Autoglide 5100 electric curtain tracks are made to measure and usually delivered within 5 to 7 working days from your order being placed.

If you order curtains too, these can take up to 20 days and everything will be delivered together.

We will always let you know in advance when your track will be arriving.

5 Year Warranty

All our Silent Gliss products come with a 5 year warranty as standard and the 5100 is no exception.
