Award-winning architecture meets whisper-quiet motorised curtains

This RIBA Manser Medal-winning home in south-west London is built around one striking idea: living inside the landscape. Sunken into the ground on a private gated estate, the house wraps its residents in curved, floor-to-ceiling glass — panoramic views in every direction.

With that much glazing, ordinary curtains were never going to work. The architects at Eldridge London specified Silent Gliss 5600 electric curtain tracks, custom-bent to follow the curved window line. Wave curtains in Colorama fabric glide silently around the glass at the touch of a button, or via the home’s integrated control system.

The motorised tracks also serve as room dividers within the open-plan living space, creating separate zones for dining, relaxing, and working — all without a single visible mechanism when the curtains are open.

The 5600 is our premium motorised track — hardwired for whole-home automation. If you’d prefer the same smooth Wave curtain look without the need for an electrician, our best-selling Autoglide 5100 plugs straight into a standard socket.
